Urdaneta City University (UCU) celebrates another remarkable academic achievement. Rose Sheilla Mae Domingo, RN, from the College of Health Sciences, achieved a Top 8 nationwide ranking in the May 2025 Philippine Nursing Licensure Examination (PNLE).
This success is a testament to UCU's unwavering commitment to academic excellence and the holistic development of its students, a commitment strongly supported by the steadfast guidance and support of Urdaneta City Mayor and UCU's Chairman of the Board of Regents, Hon. Julio "Rammy" Parayno III.
Overcoming the challenges of being a transferee during the pandemic, Domingo expressed deep gratitude to the University for its support in helping her realize her dreams. “Hindi po ako nagkamali sa pagpili ng school,” she shared, praising UCU's dedication to academic excellence and moral guidance.
Recounting on her board exam experience, Domingo attributed her success to a strategic mindset: “Ang ginawa ko po, sineperate ko po muna yung emotions ko, yung self-doubt ko sa sarili, at inisip ko po kayo, kayo na mga nagtitiwala sa akin. Ito po ang ginawa ko na motivation… super nagpapasalamat po ako sa inyo.” Her words resonated deeply with the UCU community, fellow board passers, and future examinees.
To her fellow newly licensed nurses, she offered encouragement: “I know it’s just the beginning of our journey, and way more to go, but this time let us celebrate our small wins, trust the process, and enjoy it.”
Her advice to future board exam takers was both practical and spiritually grounded: “Guide your heart and mind, kasi hindi po siya sobrang madali… always put God first, at gawin ninyo ang best niyo. Hindi kayo magsisisi sa huli.”
The UCU College of Health Sciences boasts a consistent record of excellence, having produced national topnotchers in the PNLE in 2021, 2023, 2024, and now 2025. This continued success, including the achievement of 163 newly licensed UCUian nurses, underscores the institution's dedication to producing competent, compassionate, and character-driven healthcare professionals. The leadership and vision of Mayor Rammy Parayno have been instrumental in fostering this environment of success.
